About the BellaOnline Hispanic Culture Editor
Valerie D. Aguilar

Hispanic Culture
I was born in Costa Rica and raised in Nashville, TN. My parents were very social when I was growing up and regularly entertained people from all over the world, mainly other Latin Americans. Every weekend was like an international fiesta. Growing up in this cosmopolitan atmosphere, I learned to see the beauty in all people and that social equity is very important to me.

I have a Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, studied Spanish, Business, and Visual Communications. Through my studies I found that writing is my passion.

I am proud of my Latin American heritage and have felt a strong pull to my birth country my entire life. As editor of the BellaOnline Hispanic Culture site, I hope to share my love of all the contributions by Latin Americans through our truly delightful arts, literature, language, and cuisine.

Spending time with my family, reading, traveling, dancing, walking, hiking, shopping and baking are my favorite things to do when I am not writing.

I invite you to join me in the conversation about Hispanic Culture.
